T20 World Cup 2022: Jasprit Bumrah‘s unlucky string of injuries continues as the pacer develops new back problems, keeping him out of the South Africa T20I series. Many Indian fans were shocked when the BCCI chose Mohammed Siraj to replace him in the squad since many had anticipated T Natarajan would do so.

With Jasprit Bumrah apparently suffering from a back stress fracture, India has experienced a significant blow in their World T20 preparations. He will likely miss the premier event next month in Australia.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India, however, hasn’t formally confirmed the severity of his injury; they have just said that, for the time being, he is being watched over by their medical staff and won’t be participating in the remaining T20I series against the Proteas.

The 28-year-old previously missed the opening match in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday due to what Rohit Sharma described as a “niggle.” Mohammad Siraj has been called up to the team for the final two T20Is in his place.

The right-arm fast last participated in the shortest format of the match against Sri Lanka in February, but she had little success. For the Men in Blue, he has only participated in five T20I matches.

Natarajan was one of four additional bowlers picked on October 26, 2020. That is to accompany the Indian cricket team on their tour to Australia. However, On November 9, 2020, he was substituted for injured Varun Chakravarthy in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team.  

He was included in India’s lineup before the opening One Day International (ODI) game as a replacement for Navdeep Saini, who had a back spasm.  While On December 2, 2020, Natarajan played in his first ODI for India against Australia. While On December 4, 2020, Natarajan made his India T20I debut against Australia in the opening T20I, taking 3/30.

In a game with a high scoring total, Natarajan got 2/20 in his 4 overs in the second T20I. The speed changes, yorkers, and cutters that Natarajan used in the death overs received plaudits. In the third T20I, which India won 2-1, he posted statistics of 1/33.
