T20 WC 2022: Sreesanth Feels Virat Kohli Can Be a Game Changer for India
T20 WC 2022: On September 12th, the
Indian team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 was unveiled. The 15-men
roaster also includes four specialist batsmen. India’s batting lineup is
anticipated to be led by Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar
Yadav in the marquee event.
One of the elite batters,
Virat Kohli, was having professional struggles, which raised concerns for
India. The 33-year-old had gone nearly three years without recording an
international century. Naturally, the squad suffered from a player of his
ability and class not performing.
No matter how hard Kohli
tried, the runs stopped flowing for him recently. Undoubtedly, it was a trying
time for the batter and his group of devoted fans. Naturally, when the Asia Cup
2022 arrived, everything was drastically altered.
From the very first game he
played, Kohli appeared to be in a nice groove. From that point on, the star
batter did not look back, and he went on to end the tournament as the player
who scored the second-most runs. Virat amassed 276 runs during the competition,
including a magnificent century.
Sreesanth Believes Virat Kohli
May Change the Course of the T20 World Cup for India
In the recently-completed
Asia Cup 2022, Virat Kohli finally broke his century-drought. The fact that a
batter of his quality went nearly 3 years without scoring a lot is extremely
shocking. To reach his 71st international century in a remarkable style, he
struck an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan.
People have begun to think
India will have a better chance of winning the grand event now that Kohli is
back in form. Many believe that the 33-year-old could completely transform the
T20 World Cup for India.
Sreesanth, a former Indian
bowler, agreed that Kohli could provide the Men in Blue with an extra edge in
Australia. The former cricketer for India also instilled confidence in his
country to win the coveted trophy after 15 years.
India last won the T20 World
Cup in 2007, the tournament’s inaugural year. Additionally, Sreesanth played a
crucial role in Dhoni’s crafty Men in Blue team, which stunned everyone by
capturing the title.
When queried who may be India’s game-changer, Sreesanth
responded, “I think Virat. The way he is performing, I think Virat
is back which is great. And in Australian conditions, on hard and bouncy
wickets, I think Virat and Rohit will surely do good.”
When
questioned about the secret to success, Sreesanth responded that focus and
motivation when you lose something produce results. He thinks India can win the
T20 World Cup this time around if they put a lot of effort into it.
