Duleep Trophy 2022: After getting struck on
the neck by a throw from Chintan Gaja during the Duleep Trophy on Friday,
Venkatesh Iyer was the victim of an unfortunate occurrence.
Gaja unprovoked threw a
regular ball at the batter after he had merely protected it, forcing the latter

Gaja when the latter’s reckless toss sent him crashing to the ground.

West Zone amassed a remarkable 257 points thanks to half-centuries from Prithvi
Shaw and Rahul Tripathi. After Rinku Singh was removed by Chintan Gaja to bring
Venkatesh Iyer to the crease.
Central responded by losing
wickets one after the other, leaving them stranded at 66-5. Early in the

254/5 and are well-positioned to move on to the final.

Later, Iyer returned to the
ground, and Tanush Kotian fired him on the number 14. He was also brought to
the hospital for the usual scans, and after being cleared, he was released.
Iyer, who has participated in two ODIs and nine T20Is, has not
