Cristiano Ronaldo News: Man Utd Star ‘Happy to Score Goal and Help Team Win’
Cristiano Ronaldo News: The Portuguese
superstar finally opened his account this season after netting a goal in
Manchester United’s 2-0 win over FC Sheriff in the Europa League.
Ronaldo had gone into the
game goalless in his last seven appearances for Manchester United. However, he
ended his goal drought by scoring Man Utd’s second goal of the match.
The referee awarded
Manchester United a penalty for a foul on Diogo Dalot, and Ronaldo dispatched
the spot kick in the 39th minute to give his side a two-goal advantage after
Jadon Sancho had scored to take the lead in the 17th minute.

has not had a great start to the season. Although he has featured in all of Man
Utd’s games this season, he has only made three starts.
Ronaldo, who had missed Man
Utd’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, was dropped to the bench for
their Premier League 22/23 opener. He did come off the bench in the second
half, though, as Man Utd succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Brighton.
Ronaldo returned to the
starting XI when Man Utd played Brentford in their next match. However, he was
helpless as Brentford romped to a 4-0 win over the Red Devils.
Manchester United have since
played four matches in the English top-flight and have secured wins in all
those. Ronaldo did not make it to the starting XI in any of those four games –
but did come off the bench in the second half of each of those games.

their first win of the season by defeating bitter rivals Liverpool 2-1 at Old
Trafford. They followed that up with two 1-0 wins, over Southampton and
Leicester City.
Manchester United made it four wins in a row when they hosted
league leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford. The hosts emerged victorious on that
day, cruising to a 3-1 win over the Gunners.
Man Utd currently sits fifth
in the Premier League points table. They have 12 points from their first six
fixtures. They are three points behind Arsenal, who sit top of the table.
