“Broad and Anderson will see themselves in Ashes 2023”, Brendon McCullum
Brendon McCullum –
England cricket team seems to have a completely different perspective under
coach McCullum. The test series win against New Zealand in some most iconic
ways scripted the beginning of the McCullum era.
Ben Stokes and
co went out there to play cricket in the most fearlessly way reminding everyone
of McCullum’s style of playing cricket. In the past during the captaincy of Joe
Root, England cricket had a defensive approach towards the opposition teams.
But that seems changed when
duo Stokes-McCullum brought the team to Flore with a different mindset. And
that was too visible when they defeated India in the only test match.
England
defeat South Africa by 2-1 under Brendon McCullum
While in the recent test
series after trailing by 0-1 England bounced back and win the test series by
2-1 against South Africa. Not to forget that the last test match result came in
the 3 days of play.
In the last 7 test matches, England registered victory in 6 test
matches since 2004 in which Broad and Anderson too included. After the series
win, McCullum said,
These two are just incredible
players and one of the greats of the game. The legacy they establish inspires
the coming generations.
McCullum believed the England dressing room is fortunate to have
these two in the company. The time these two spend in the dressing room
provides much-needed confidence to other players.
McCullum also
believes these two will definitely see themselves in the Ashes 2023 with the
kind of experience they have in red ball cricket.
Both broad and Anderson have
taken over 500 wickets each in test cricket averaging less than 18. While for
England cricket James Anderson has the most capped player with 175 appearances.
For the upcoming T-20 World
Cup, Michael Hussey has been appointed as the consultant. Before the world cup,
England will tour Pakistan for limited overs cricket.
After 2005, It will be the first visit of England Cricket to
Pakistan to play any cricket match. Due to security issues, many teams in the
past had cancelled their tour of Pakistan.
