Bayern Munich news: Benjamin Pavard has
revealed that he questioned himself whether he should stay at the German side
or leave them during the 2022 summer transfer window.

away from Bayern Munich in the recently closed summer transfer window. Man Utd
was linked with the France international but a move never happened.

Bayern Munich since the 2019/20 season. The 26-year-old has so far made 127
appearances for Bayern Munich and has scored seven goals.

a five-year contract in 2019. He still has two years left on that deal with the

Munich news: Benjamin Pavard opens up on transfer speculation
Pavard has now opened about the transfer speculation that linked
him with an exit from Bayern Munich in the recent summer transfer window.
The
Bayern Munich defender admitted that he questioned himself whether he should
stay at the German side or seek a move away from the club.
Pavard
also revealed he had calls from different clubs with his agent. However, he
chose to stay at Bayern Munich after talks with the club manager. Julian
Nagelsmann convinced Pavard that he was in his plans and was important for the
club, according the defender himself.
“I
questioned myself. I had calls from different clubs with my agent. Afterwards,
I had the Bayern coach with whom we spoke and with whom we have a good
relationship. He made me understand that I was in his plans, that I was
important for the team,” Pavard told Telefoot.
Pavard
also opened the door for a move away from Bayern Munich in the future. He
added: “Maybe
one day I will go to one of these clubs, you never know what the future holds.
I’m still a year at Bayern Munich. Afterwards, we have time to project
ourselves.”
Meanwhile,
Bayern have not had a great start to the 22/23 season. They have only won three
of their first seven games in the Bundesliga this season. Bayern shared points
in three matches, while losing one game.
The
defending league champions currently languish at fifth in the points table with
12 points from seven matches. They are five points behind league leaders Union
Berlin.
Bayern,
though, have secured victories in the two Champions League games they have so
far played this season. Bayern registered 2-0 wins in both games, defeating Inter
Milan and Barcelona.
