3 Indian Players Who Are a Part of IND vs SA Series but Are Not in T20
T20 WC 2022: Team India made
a remarkable comeback in the T20 format by defeating the world champions
Australia in an exciting three-match series after a poor 2022 T20 Asia
Cup. South Africa are the next challenging foe for
the Men in Blue.
On Monday, September 12, the BCCI selection committee unveiled
the Indian team for the T20 World Cup in 2022. The 15-member side will be
captained by Rohit Sharma,
with Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel making their comebacks. Some of the T20
World Cup participants from the previous year have been overlooked this time
around. Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, and Deepak Chahar are all now included in
the reserves.
Another significant development is Mohammed Shami’s exclusion
from the starting lineup. Along with Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer, and Ravi
Bishnoi, he is a reserve. Chahar and Bishnoi are among the reserves for the T20
World Cup despite having been a part of the starting lineup during the Asia
Cup.
T20 WC 2022: Here Are 3 Indian
Players Who Are Not a Part of the 15-Member Squad for the T20 WC
1. Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas
Iyer was added to the squad against South Africa after Deepak
Hooda & Hardik Pandya are not available. Iyer has been a part of the Indian
white-ball system for a longer period than the other two players on the list.
And his inclusion in the team would have been assured if it had been a 50-over
competition.
In the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, the
27-year-old registered two half-centuries and a 4., Demonstrating his
outstanding performance in the longer white-ball style of the game. He hasn’t
been able to maintain the same form in the T20Is, unfortunately.
Iyer demonstrated his batsmanship in the last T20I of the just
finished T20I series by recording his eighth half-century in the format.
Earning him a spot on the Standbys list. However, the exquisite batter faces an
even tougher road ahead because players like Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav are
ahead of him in the T20 WC 2022 down under pecking order.
2. Ravi Bishnoi
Another young Indian bowler who gained attention this year after
representing his country in his first international match was Ravi
Bishnoi. Despite having a lackluster performance in IPL 2022. The
spinner was rewarded with a return to the national team for the recently
finished Windies series.
With his quick turning googlies, the 21-year-old has been a
constant annoyance for the opposition hitters. He made three appearances for
the Men in Blues against the Caribbean team and made an impression by taking
eight wickets. Including a career-high 4/16.
Bishnoi was one of the management’s unexpected selections in the
Indian team for the Asia Cup. It was solely because they went with four
frontline spinning options. But Kuldeep Yadav’s comeback does not augur well
for the leggies. As he is probably going to be left off the team for the T20 WC
2022 later this year.
3. Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar rejoined the Indian
cricket team after a protracted injury absence. His lower back ailment kept him
out of the IPL 2022. And all other international competitions till he was
healthy enough to play in the Asia Cup.
